before the fires
This photograph was taken in the Santa Monica Mountains,the exact area was the;
Rancho Sierra Vista/ Satwiwa area,it's the western edge of the Santa Monica Montains.
Satwiwa, which means "the bluffs,".
Well,I took many many pictures of this area,as well as other trails, bluffs and deep expansive canyons of these Mountains.
Also, along the Pacific coast and the Malibu area.
Now,sad to report as you well know it's a raging fire.
Which started the evening I returned to Chicago.
While there doing the course of hiking and photography,I too knew, that the area was extremely dry and brittle.
Dust swirled around frequently on the open vistas.Of course further in it was moderately stable as far as dryness was concerned.
Of course the further I traveled into the mountain ranges and bluffs, you could sense the ocean breezes cascading through the canyons.
Now,perhaps this view is burning.

Symbiosis

Symbiosis is a close ecological relationship between the individuals of two (or more) different species. Sometimes a symbiotic relationship benefits both species, sometimes one species benefits at the other's expense, and in other cases neither species benefits.
Ecologists use a different term for each type of symbiotic relationship:
Mutualism
-- both species benefit
Commensalism
-- one species benefits, the other is unaffected
Parasitism
-- one species benefits, the other is harmed
Competition
-- neither species benefits
Neutralism
-- both species are unaffected
